Business Development / Sales Manager

With offices in Jakarta, Melbourne, Sydney, Shanghai, and Bangkok, our specialty lands on food and hospitality.

A great opportunity for a Business Development / Sales Manager to join the Minded Studio family in our Jakarta office has arisen.

The role will see the successful candidate working across a diverse range of projects and clients, from visionary independent F&B owners to seasonal hotel operators. You'll be networking with industry leaders, contributing to innovative and high-impact projects, and having the opportunity for continuous learning and growth. The dynamic nature of the role ensures that you’ll never be bored and there will always be a fun challenge along the way as no two projects are the same.


Roles and Responsibilities

1. Identifying new business opportunities and nurturing relationships:

  • Developing strategic plans and initiatives to drive business development efforts and achieve the agency's growth objectives.

  • Generating new leads through cold calling, email marketing, attending industry events, networking and leveraging social media platforms to attract potential clients to the agency.

  • Establishing and nurturing relationships with existing and previous clients, as well as prospects by engaging in regular communication and networking to understand client needs and position the agency as a trusted partner.

2. Understanding challenges faced by potential clients and proposing solutions:

  • Asking probing questions, actively listening to client concerns, and identifying opportunities for the agency to provide solutions.

  • Developing compelling proposals that solve the clients’ problems, by showcasing our capabilities and demonstrating how they can address client needs effectively.

3. Negotiation, closing sales and nurturing relationships:

  • Leading negotiations with clients, discussing pricing, scope of work, timelines, and other terms and conditions.

  • Continuing to be involved in client management, ensuring a smooth transition from sales to project execution, by maintaining ongoing communication with clients, addressing any issues or concerns, and working to foster long-term relationships.


To Be Successful in This Role

Personality traits:

  • Confident and dynamic personality, comfortable with engaging in conversation with various individuals and building effective relationships.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written (in both English and Bahasa Indonesia), to articulate our value proposition clearly and negotiate effectively.

Skills:

  • Previous experience in client-facing roles with a focus on building long-term partnerships

  • Demonstrated proficiency in client relationship management, showcasing excellent communication and negotiation skills

  • Proactive and self-motivated approach, with a proven track record in sales and strategic thinking to foster business growth

  • Ability to effectively position company services and offer valuable insights to clients

  • Strong networking abilities coupled with a creative mindset to identify and pursue partnership opportunities

  • Creative problem solver who can address clients’ needs, challenges and requirements effectively.

  • A team player who can collaborate effectively with internal teams, including creative, strategy, and account management, to deliver integrated solutions for clients.

Experience:

  • Have a good understanding of the sales process, from lead generation to closing deals, and prior experience in sales, marketing or client relationship management.

  • Have a solid understanding of the F&B, lifestyle, hotel and creative industry to effectively position our services, understand client needs, and stay ahead of industry trends.

  • Minimum of 3 years in client-facing roles with a focus on building long-term partnerships.
